SAFE ESCAPE LOCK PRODUCT INFORMATION

Typical door and locking

method currently used

on ships.

If pirates were outside this door, would you feel safe

with this lock and hasp?

The Safe Escape Lock is constructed of a 3/8” thick stainless

steel plate and a 5/8” diameter stainless steel stud. The attached

10mm Ultimate Security Chain made of special heat-treated

hardened steel is not just hardened at the surface but throughout.

The chain’s square link design has a superior cut resistance

compared to a round link and an electrogalvanized finish for

corrosion resistance, making the Safe Escape Lock tough against

the harsh marine environment.

Water tight and weather tight integrity for this type of penetration

is demonstrated as per SOLAS II-1 Regulation 11.  A tight fitting

bolted connection with a fire rated sealant also complies with ABS

steel vessel rules 3-7-1/5.7.  A flexible, highly intumescent

BIOSTOP fireshield gasket is attached to the back of the plate

between the hasp and the bulkhead, preventing the passage of

smoke, fire and water when properly installed, insuring

compliance with SOLAS FTD code.  After installation, the Safe

Escape Lock also complies with the USCG 46 CFR 164 and

NVIC 9-97.
